I-35 work in Pine County starts Monday
A reminder for anyone traveling to or from the Twin Cities next week: Work begins Monday on a construction project in Pine County that will result in single-lane closures for both northbound and southbound traffic.
Crews next week will begin constructing bypasses and ramp crossovers in the median of I-35, as part of a larger, two-year project to reconstruct seven miles of the freeway. The bypass and crossover work should last until the end of May.
From June until October, motorists will be restricted to two-lane, two-way traffic (one lane in each direction). Drivers should expect delays during peak travel times.
The finished project will provide 7 miles of new pavement, improved safety and new bridges.
