Reader's View: Did Switch Witch hit your house?

A friend introduced me to the Switch Witch a few years ago.

She comes to our house the night after Halloween and gives my kids each a gift in trade for their candy. She makes a personal appearance for us, with a black witch's hat and cape, a plastic-looking long nose, and a cackling voice. But I've heard she comes in the night like Santa at other homes, and she appears right after trick-or-treating for my friend's daughter, who has Celiac disease. One year she gave my kids Pokémon cards in exchange for their candy, and another year she paid cash. This year she had small presents, like you'd find at Walgreens.

Sick of Halloween candy hanging around forever? Maybe it's time to invite the Switch Witch for a visit!
