Northwoods League: Honkers top Huskies in 11
Alex Baeza's double scored Mike Peabody with the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the 11th inning to lead the Rochester Honkers to a 2-1 victory over the Duluth Huskies tonight before 893 at Mayo Field in Rochester, Minn.
Duluth (1-3) continues to get stellar pitching and has allowed only six runs through the first four games of the second half. This time it was Cal State-Northridge's Hayden Shenefield logging 8 1/3 strong innings, striking out nine and allowing just one run, but reliever Logan VanWey could only hold the lead for so long.
Augie Isaacson and Chris Gilbody continue to lead the Huskies offensively, chipping in three hits apiece, but both teams left nine men on base.
Andy Armstrong had three hits to lead Rochester (1-3).
Duluth stays on the road, playing at St. Cloud at 4:05 p.m. Sunday.
