Huskies snap three-game skid in Waterloo

The Duluth Huskies snapped a three-game losing streak on Friday with a 5-4 victory over the Waterloo Bucks in Northwoods League play at Riverfront Stadium in Waterloo, Iowa.

The win keeps the Huskies 1.5 games back of Willmar in the North Division second half standings with two days remaining in the regular season. The Huskies have clinched a postseason berth, but need to win the division to play their playoff game Monday at Wade Stadium in Duluth.

The Huskies took the lead over Waterloo in the top of the sixth inning on Friday via a one-out single to left field by shortstop Nicholas Sogard, scoring both Michael McCann and Augie Isaacson. Sogard finished 2-for-2 at the plate with two RBIs and two runs scored. He was also walked three times.

The Huskies, at 46-24 overall this season, close the regular season at the Bismarck Larks, playing a 6:05 p.m. game Saturday and a 1:05 p.m. game Sunday.
