College women’s basketball: UMD hires new assistant coach

Minnesota Duluth women’s basketball coach Mandy Pearson has added Becca Neuger to her staff as an assistant coach, the Bulldogs announced Monday.

Neuger comes to UMD after spending last season on the Wisconsin staff overseeing day-to-day operations. She previously worked as an assistant coach at NCAA Division III Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas for two seasons, and was a graduate manager in 2014-15 for the Baylor men’s basketball team.

Neuger — a native of Northfield, Minn. and who played collegiately at St. Olaf — replaces Jenna Freudenberg, who left UMD after three seasons to join the staff at South Dakota.
